Yo… Atlanta Carnival was a GOOD time this year.
The rain stopped nothing.
The vibes… *chefs kiss*. Hopefully it was an awesome time for the masqueraders.

The energy felt different this year. People weren’t just “outside”. They were LIVING.
I saw so many smiling faces and people genuinely living in the moment. It was a beautiful thing. Maybe somebody else can put it to words better than me but the parade this year hit different. Not going to get to preachy but all May I’ve been watching black people across the entire African Diaspora defiantly live life in the midst of and DESPITE OF our current social climate, politics, and world affairs.

That said, the costumes this year looked AMAZING… EVERYBODY came with it. Respec’ to all of the bands on the road Saturday! It looks like things were a good experience for all.

I didn’t think I was going to be able to touch these shots until Wednesday but I caught a break today and was able to dive in.
